Nicky Nelson is a fast-talking sideshow barker with a wax-and-alive concession on Atlantic City's boardwalk. Even with the band of his friend, struggling musician Gene Krupa, playing on the sidewalk to attract the customers, "The Living Corpse" and other low-rent acts aren't enough to lure the seen-it-all boardwalk strollers, and the landlord closes the show in lieu of never-paid rent. Nicky, always promoting, goes to Stephen Hanratty, head of the pier's Dance Pavilion, to plug Krupa's band as an attraction, but Hanratty won't even listen to them. But, while there, he meets singer Lily Racquel, who knows he is a phoney but might have the ability to to talk a radio-station manager into giving her an audition. She gives him a ring to help finance the project; he promptly loses it in a crap-game.

A comedy about a new class of business people who have everything a successful businessman needs, but almost never the appropriate pedigree, that is, the suitable origin that would accompany their occupied position in society.

A straight story featuring five gays and a fag hag--six deeply screwed-up characters. All typical New Yorkers: a Korean from Australia; a Belizean; a Jew from Brooklyn; a beach boy from California; and an Italian of Polish descent from Long Island. All in the New York state of mind: desperately in search of love--in all the wrong places. They make: three couples, five flings, four breakups. ER's boyfriend Joshua romances Karen's boyfriend Teo. Teo meets Frederic, whose boyfriend John romances ER. Frederic and John split then reconcile. ER and Joshua reconcile then split. Only Teo and Karen maintain their commitment to each other--he's gay, she's straight! Hey--nobody's perfect!

The renowned physician Prof. Markus Gärtner becomes the new head of the planned cardiac research center. To make it as easy as possible for the specialist to settle into his new place of residence, clinic director Prof. Weissing commissions a relocation agency to take care of his wishes and concerns from now on. Although she sends her best employee, Lina Baumann, she seems to fail because of the gruff, humorless doctor. Every apartment she chooses displeases the single doctor. He is also annoyed by all the joint activities. He only has work on his mind and would like to start immediately.
